Pride Diversity Week activities on calendar

Northern Maine Pride’s Diversity Week will be observed Monday, May 29, through Sunday, June 4. The following events are scheduled:

. Family Bowling for Diversity, Monday, May 29, Old Town Bowling Center, 156 Center St., Old Town. Registration, 5:30-6 p.m. Bowling, 6-9 p.m. $10 per person, includes unlimited games and shoes. 827- 2874.

. Martin Swinger House Concert, 6:30-9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, home of George Brissette, 253 Old Town Road, Hudson. Potluck dinner. $10 minimum donation. 327-1328.

. Dining OUT with Northern Maine Pride, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, Clewley Farm Restaurant, 999 Main Road, Eddington. Mexican night. 843-7446.

. Cruise on the Roxy Leigh, Thursday, June 1. Pre-party at Karma in Bangor, 7-8 p.m. Cruise on the Penobscot River, 8-10 p.m. $14 per person. Transportation provided to and from the club to the boat. Sponsored by Karma. Call Karma at 942-3002 for ticket information.

. Miss Northern Maine Pride Pageant, 8 p.m. Friday, June 2, White Birches, 20 Thorsen Road, Ellsworth. $8 at the door. Applications for contestants available on the Northern Maine Pride Web site. 667-3621.

. Diversity Festival, noon-6 p.m. Saturday, June 3, Bangor Waterfront. Entertainment, booths, food and children’s area. 947-1081, or www.northernmainepride.org.

. Block Party, 8 p.m.-closing, Sunday, June 4, Club Detour parking lot, Brewer. For ages 18 and older. Family social, 5-8 p.m. for all ages. Dancing, karaoke, pool tables, food and booths. Sponsored by Club Detour. 989-3386.

Northern Maine Pride provides a forum for creative expression for all members of the community promoting and enhancing diversity; promotes and encourages the understanding that the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning community plays an important part in Maine’s cultural, social and economic landscape; gives back to the community through charitable donations or in-kind services; and produces and annual festival and parade focusing on the community in northern Maine.
