Cianchette lifts Nokomis to win

OLD TOWN – Patricia Cianchette hit a double and a single, and pitched a six-hit shutout while striking out 10 to lead the Nokomis of Newport softball team to a 3-0 high school victory over Old Town Thursday.

Erin Knight chipped in two singles for the Warriors.

Morgan Cossar and Ashley Goodwin each singled twice for the Coyotes.

At Fort Kent, Allison Young hit four singles and Angela Norsworthy fired a no-hitter as Presque Isle cruised past Fort Kent.

Meagan Pinette, Heather Richards and Norsworthy each notched a double and two singles for the Wildcats.

At Deer Isle, Lucas Marks ripped three home runs, a two-run shot and a three-run shot to lead George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill to the win.

Blake Wessel doubled and singled twice and notched an RBI for the Eagles.

Colin Ciomei hit two singles for the Mariners.

At Fort Fairfield, Rob McNamee slapped an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth to snap a 2-2 tie and lift the Tigers to the win.

Joey Scull hit an RBI double and Cody Closson an RBI single for Fort Fairfield. Jake Kenneson struck out 14 while allowing two runs on four hits.

Evan Boutlier hit a two-run homer and single for the Warriors of Dyer Brook. Adam Anderson fanned 11 while scattering just three runs on four hits.
