DOVER, N.H. – State police are looking for four blasting caps that may have fallen off a truck somewhere along about 40 miles of roadway.

Police say the caps were last seen in Dover on Monday afternoon on a truck belonging to Maine Drilling and Blasting Co. The truck left a construction site in Dover and traveled about 40 miles to its facility in Auburn, Maine. The truck traveled on Route 16 to Route 155, then to Route 4 and Route 125 before heading west on Route 101 into Auburn.

The blasting caps are little cylinders, three to four inches long and about an inch in diameter. They are wrapped together with a bright red or bright pink cord that’s about four feet long.

Police say caps are safe to handle, but urge caution.
