CARIBOU – A Caribou man who police charged with unlawfully trafficking in scheduled drugs and violation of condition of release last month was one of 41 people indicted recently by the Aroostook County grand jury.
Lucien Woo, 33, was charged after Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents went to his home to follow up on a tip that Woo had been purchasing items used to manufacture methamphetamine.
MDEA Division Commander Darrell Crandall said last month that agents were making a routine check of Woo when they came onto what they believed to be a methamphetamine laboratory. The checks were allowed under Woo’s bail conditions.
Investigators donned special gear and respirators to remove evidence from the home, as the chemicals and solvents used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine are hazardous to breathe or touch and are explosive.
It was the second time in a year that Woo had been charged with trafficking. He was arrested on the charge in May 2005.
It is alleged he had been operating a methamphetamine lab at the time as well.
