Tigers upset archrival Devils

DEXTER – Jana Kenney singled in Becky Johnson in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Dexter softball team dealt archrival Central its first loss of the season, 2-1 in a high school game Monday.

Michelle Chapman added a double and a single for the Tigers.

Kara Voisine hit two singles and drove in a run for the Red Devils of Corinth, and Hilary Haney added a double and a single.

At South China, Amy Hackett smacked two doubles and two singles as Bangor rolled over Erskine.

At Bar Harbor, Asia Ross doubled and singled and drove home four runs to lead host Mount Desert Island to the victory.

Nia Megquier doubled and singled with two RBIs for the Trojans, and she also pitched a complete-game five-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Casey McCloskey paced the Lynx of Lincoln with two singles, while Renee Libbey doubled and scored two runs.

Aarika Ritchie and Kerri Harris had a double and a single apiece for the winners.

Jessica Olsson, Gena Clark and Whitney Farrell had singles for Woodland. Olsson scored a run and had an RBI.

Christy Moon hit a three-run double for the Eagles.

Jessica Bates slapped a two-run single for the Red Riots.

At Milo, Erica Lyford raced home from third with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Patriots the victory over the Wolverines of East Millinocket.

Lyford hit a one-out double, stole third and then scored on a passed ball. She also had a two-run triple and was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts.

Mindy Dolley chipped in with two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Brianne Smith singled twice for Schenck and Jayne Cramm added an RBI single.

Brandon Nicholson doubled and drove in two runs, and Ryan Ware notched two singles and an RBI for the Howlers.

Kris King hit a two-run home run and two singles while Blane Clark had a double and three singles with two RBIs. Kyle McLeod added a double and a single with an RBI, and Derek Worster had two singles with an RBI. Boulrisse also had an RBI double for the Pandas.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Zack Debay hit two singles and drove in three runs to lead Hermon over Foxcroft Academy.

Derek Helms and Travis Estes each tallied two singles and an RBI, and Tim Kenerson singled and doubled. Dustin Jalbert notched two singles for the Hawks.

Josh Pelletier doubled and singled, driving in a run, and David White and Nick Lancisi each had two singles and an RBI for the Ponies.

At Dexter, Dan Beatham fired a two-hit shutout, striking out four and walking two, and Ryan Martin supplied him with the only run he was to need by doubling home a first-inning run.

Aaron Woodman and Gavin Cote had RBI singles in the second and Ethan Woodman doubled home a third-inning run.

Rick Stewart doubled and singled for the winners and Danny Kane singled twice for Central.

Levi Nickerson struck out 11 and pitched a seven-hitter in a losing cause.
