EDDIE ROBBINS
Robbins, a center fielder for the Bucksport baseball team, had five hits and four RBIs in two games as the Golden Bucks extended their winning streak to seven games. He had two singles, a double and two RBIs in a 10-2 win at Mount Desert Island, then added two RBI singles as 7-1 Bucksport rallied past Searsport 5-2 on Monday.
Small School (Classes C-D)
LUCAS MARKS
Marks, a catcher for the George Stevens Academy baseball team, hit three home runs, including a three-run shot and a two-run blast, to lead the Eagles past Deer Isle-Stonington 16-2 in a battle between the reigning Eastern Maine Class C and Class D champions at Deer Isle. Marks, the cleanup batter in the GSA lineup, has helped his team to a 9-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in Class C.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
ASHLEY KELLEY
The Hermon sophomore pitcher racked up 41 strikeouts in three games to lead the Hawks to three wins, a 7-3 record and the top spot in the Eastern Maine Class B standings. Kelley fanned 18 over 12 innings in a 4-2 win over Mattanawcook, struck out 14 in a 4-2 victory over Caribou, and had eight strikeouts in a one-hitter for a 9-0 win over the Vikings.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MICHELLE CHAPMAN
Chapman, a sophomore pitcher for the Dexter softball team, shut down Central of Corinth for seven innings to earn a 2-1 win in eight innings and hand the previously undefeated Red Devils their first loss of the season. She had a double and a single in that game. Chapman also pitched the Tigers to a 4-1 win and hit a two-run triple against Penquis last week.
