AUGUSTA – In honor of Maine Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Dale James Kelly Jr., who was killed in an attack in Iraq on May 6, Gov. John Baldacci has directed that the United States and Maine flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, May 20.

Kelly, 48, of Richmond, was a member of B Company, 3rd Battalion of the 172nd Infantry regiment based in Brewer.

A military funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 27 Pleasant St. in Brunswick, with interment to follow at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
