PORTLAND – A former Casco emergency medical technician is hoping to clear his name now that a charge of gross sexual assault against him has been dropped by the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.

Scott Mondor’s lawyer plans to petition Public Safety Commissioner Michael Cantara to have Mondor’s EMT license reinstated. Mondor then hopes to go on to become a paramedic.

Mondor was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Casco after making two rescue calls to her home for her 2-year-old son. He acknowledged returning to the woman’s home a third time to retrieve his stethoscope, but Mondor said that visit took just 15 minutes.

Police accused him of raping the woman and threatening her child. Mondor calls the charge against him “ridiculous.”

Besides losing his EMT license, Mondor lost his job at a car dealership.
