Raya King leads Warriors to win

FORT FAIRFIELD – Raya King’s bases-loaded triple keyed a six-run third inning that carried Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook past Fort Fairfield 8-2 in a rain-shortened high school baseball game Friday afternoon.

Kaylea Collier had an RBI single in the third for the Warriors.

Chelsea Collier pitched a six-hitter to notch the win, striking out four and walking three.

Ruthie Arato had two singles for Fort Fairfield.

Presque Isle 19, MA Lynx 13

At Presque Isle, Katie Delong hit two singles and a triple with two RBIs to lead Presque Isle over Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.

Katie Moody had a single and a double with an RBI while Heather Richards added two singles and an RBI for the Wildcats.

Casey McCluskey hit two singles and a double and drove in two runs. Kristy Burleigh had three singles and two RBIs for the Lynx, and Renee Libbey had three singles and an RBI.

At Danforth, Emma Boutlier hit three singles and drove in four runs to help lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy to victory.

Megan Korhonen added a single and a triple, while Amanda Lizsey had two doubles and two RBIs for Greater Houlton.

Niki Tuck had a single for the Vikings.

Hodgdon 11, Katahdin 3

At Hodgdon, Sara Brewer and Taylor Hovey each had two-run singles in a seven-run third inning that broke a 2-2 tie in the rain-shortened game.

Misty Wing pitched five innings of four-hit, three-run ball to collect the win. She didn’t strike out anybody and walked two.

Brewer had a double and two singles and knocked in three runs, and Jayme Bither had a two-run double.

Chelsea Bates had a run-scoring double for Katahdin of Stacyville, which beat Hodgdon 13-12 earlier this season.

Van Buren 16, Wisdom 4

At Van Buren, Megan Lajoie pitched a complete game allowing one earned run and striking out eight while also hitting two singles and a double with two RBIs to lead Van Buren by Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Kelsey Smith had a single and drove in three runs for the Crusaders.

Nicole St. Pierre hit a double and drove in a run for the Pioneers.

At Lee, senior Megan Mishou struck out 10 and freshman Morgan Chasse had three singles, drove in a run, and scored twice to power Bangor Christian past Lee Academy.

Christin Pelletier had two singles for the winners.

Kerri Harris singled twice for the Pandas.

At Van Buren, Kyle Chasse hit a single and a double and scored two runs to help lead Van Buren by Wisdom.

Alex Martin hit an RBI single in the fifth inning for Van Buren.

Justin Parody hit an RBI single and Justin Michaud added a single for the Pioneers of St. Agatha.

At Hodgdon, Cameron Cunningham pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts, allowing only one run, to lead Katahdin by Hodgdon.

Pat Willett hit a double and two singles and drove in two runs, while Casey Savage had a double and a single. Jared Anderson added two singles for the Cougars of Stacyville.

Jamie Ryan and Jordan Guy each hit a single for the Hawks.

At Danforth, Josh Barnes singled twice and drove in four runs and Isiah Gillis added two singles and three RBIs to lead the Vikings past Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

Adam Bodine chipped in with a double, single, and two RBIs for the winners, and Kyle Dicker added a double, single, and RBI. Justin Frost singled twice, and winning pitcher Micah Barnes allowed only four hits and one walk while striking out 10.

Chad Duff singled twice for GHCA, and Drew Farrar had an RBI single.

Brandon Crocker had two singles and drove in two runs, while Tyler Thompson added two singles and an RBI. Derek Worster drove in a run and scored three for the Pandas.

Micah Dougherty had an RBI single and Josh Frost added two singles for Bangor Christian.
