Penquis Valley High School

MILO – Scott Gordon, principal of Penquis Valley High School in Milo, has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2006. Graduation will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11. at Penquis Valley High School.

Kylie Palmer, daughter of Marcie Palmer of Milo and Rick Martell of Dexter, has been named the valedictorian for the Class of 2006. She will attend the University of Maine to study biology.

She has been an active member of Key Club, National honor Society, student council, drama club, Girls’ State representative, and Red Cross volunteer. She played soccer, basketball and softball for four years. She was the recipient of the MPA Principal’s Award for Penquis Valley.

Christina Gerrish, daughter of Peter and Laurie Gerrish of Brownville, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2006. She will attend Husson College to study occupational therapy.

She has been an active member of the yearbook staff, the National Honor Society, and has been a class officer for two years. She played soccer, basketball and tennis for four years.

Tyler Herbst, son of Mario and Laurie Herbst of Milo, has been named first honor essayist for the Class of 2006. He will attend Brigham Young University to study biology.

He has been vice president of the National Honor Society, and recently placed third in the regional Business Educators Association of Maine contest. He is also an Eagle Scout.

Jennifer Hartmann, daughter of Kim Hartmann of Milo, has been named second honor essayist for the Class of 2006. She will attend the University of Maine to study mathematics.

She has been a four-year member of Key Club, band, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
