WALDOBORO – A five-run fifth-inning rally powered host Medomak Valley to a 5-3 high school softball win over Maranacook on Tuesday.
Ashley Hunt’s run-scoring double, April Baker’s RBI single, Megan Bradstreet’s run-producing bunt single, and Erin Sweeney’s sacrifice fly highlighted the rally that erased a 3-0 deficit.
Winning pitcher Brittany Barbour tossed a five-hitter, striking out five and not walking anybody.
Baker and Barbour had two singles each while the Black Bears of Readfield received a two-run single from Amy Caramihalis and an RBI single from Tiffany Mitchell.
Ann Marie Marble pitched an eight-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Danielle Richard had John Bapst of Bangor’s lone hit, a fourth-inning single.

Fort Fairfield wins one, loses one
At Fort Fairfield, Whitney Searles doubled, singled twice and knocked in four runs to lead Fort Fairfield past Washburn 15-12. The Tigers lost to Wisdom earlier in the day 12-3.
In the second game, Kelli Osgood singled twice, doubled and knocked in three runs for the Tigers.
Kelsee McLaughlin had a two-run double and Amy Reed three singles and three RBIs for Washburn.
In the first game, Nicole St. Pierre struck out 11 in a complete-game win for the Pioneers of St. Agatha.
