PORTLAND – Ninety seven members of the University of Maine School of Law’s graduating class are expected to participate in commencement exercises beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Merrill Auditorium in Portland City Hall.
Peter Pitegoff, the dean of the Maine School of Law, will preside.
The commencement address will be delivered by David T. Flanagan, most recently general counsel to the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Government Administration Committee, supervising the Senate investigation of the Hurricane Katrina response. From January 1994 to December 2001, he served as president and CEO of Central Maine Power.
Flanagan holds a law degree from Boston College Law School, a master’s degree from the University of London, and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College.
