MADAWASKA – Alex Martin stole home in the top of the fourth to tie the score at 10 them slapped an RBI single two innings later as Van Buren rallied from a 10-5 deficit after three innings to knock off Madawaska 11-10 in high school baseball action Wednesday.

Martin added a two-run single earlier in the contest for the Crusaders. Andrew Taylor hit an RBI single and Trevor Hews singled twice and doubled.

Mark Sirois hit a two-run homer and added a double and a single for the Owls and Matt Beaulieu hit a two-run double.

At Rockport, Noah Burke slapped an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give the Windjammers the winning edge.

James Cummings beat out a double play ball to drive in a run on a fielders choice for the winners while Jake Grinnell and Miles Davie added singles.

Dylan Collins doubled while Craig Maffei and Casey Spencer each singled for Maranacook of Readfield.

At Hodgdon, Jesse Lane singled twice and drove in two runs to lead Hodgdon by Ashland.

Tyler Cote and Tom Baker each hit a single and a double for the Hornets.

At Dyer Brook, Rusty Toothaker singled twice and drove in three runs to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to a pointworthy win over rival Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Winning pitcher Adam Anderson aided his own cause with a triple, single and RBI. He scattered nine hits while striking out 10 and walking two. Jeremy Boutilier chipped in with two singles.

Andrew York and Cameron York each singled twice and had an RBI for the Panthers.

Randy Thibeault hit a single and a home run for the Pioneers of St. Agatha.

At Hodgdon, the Hornets scored six runs in the sixth to snap a 9-9 tie and beat the Hawks.

Andrea Mayo singled twice for Ashland, which took advantage of numerous Hodgdon walks. Melinda Chasse singled and scored three runs.

Tasha Dwyer and Sara Brewer had two singles each for Hodgdon.

At Presque Isle, Allison Young singled and later scored on a Katie Delong double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Presque Isle past Caribou.

Delong had a double and three singles with four stolen bases and three runs scored for Presque Isle. Katie Moody hit a double and two singles and Heather Richards singled twice to drive in two runs. Chelsea Glovins had two singles.

Serena Grier doubled twice for Caribou and Billie Martin doubled and singled. Makayla Gahagan and Kristen Espling each singled twice.

At Houlton, Greater Houlton Christian took a pair from Central Aroostook of Mars Hill, 12-0 in the opener and 16-5 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Megan Korhonen pitched a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts for the Eagles. Emma Boutlier singled twice and knocked in three runs while Amanda Jago had three singles.

Kayla Day singled for the Panthers.

In the second game, Boutlier singled three times and drove in two runs to lead the Eagles to the sweep. Jen Burtchell added a pair of RBI singles.

Amber Bradley singled twice for Central Aroostook.
