Burlington woman seeks 11th District seat

BURLINGTON – Beth Turner of Burlington is running as a Democratic candidate for state representative for District 11, which includes parts of Penobscot, Washington and Hancock counties.

Issues that concern Turner include small-business development and tight control on government spending.

Turner is a Region III school board member and former SAD 31 board of directors chairwoman. She served nine years as town clerk and registrar of voters in Burlington and 15 years on SAD 31’s board.

A graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, Turner earned her nurse’s aide certificate and worked at Penobscot Valley Hospital.

She is married, and she and her husband, Stan Turner, have two children and one grandson.
