AUGUSTA – In observance of Memorial Day, the U.S. and Maine flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to noon Monday, May 29. At noon, flags are to be raised to full-staff.
“Time and time again, our soldiers have answered the call and stood ready to support the defense of our families, communities and country,” Gov. John Baldacci said in a statement directing how the flags are to be displayed. “All in Maine owe them a debt of gratitude – on Memorial Day, and every day.”
