HOULTON – Hilary Arsenault didn’t allow a run while striking out seven and giving up only one hit to lead the Stearns Minutemen to a 4-0 high school softball victory over the Houlton Shiretowners Saturday.

Felicia Acorn hit three singles and drove in a run while Amy Collinsworth singled and tripled for the Minutemen of Millinocket.

Sarah Harbison singled for the Shiretowners.

At Woodland, Brooke Harris pitched a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to lead Lee Academy to victory.

Erica Ritchie hit a single, a triple and drove in three runs and Harris had two singles. Marcy Moors added a triple for the Pandas.

Tiffany Wormell had a single for the Dragons.

John Bapst, Mattanawcook split

At Bangor, Rachel Stearns hit a triple, a double and two singles to help lead John Bapst by Mattanawcook in the second game 15-2.

Mattanawcook Academy won the first game 8-3.

In the first game, Abby Perkins hit three singles and drove in two runs. Hilary Laferriere had two singles while Rachel Stearns added a triple for the Crusaders.

Christy Burleigh had an RBI double while Caitlin Shorey had an RBI single for the Lynx.

In the second game, Danielle Richard had four singles while Sheila Toomey tripled and singled. Devan Richard added two singles for John Bapst.

Sarah French singled twice for Mattanawcook.

At East Millinocket, Jamie Milton pitched a complete game allowing one run on two hits with 13 strikeouts to lead Penobscot Valley of Howland to victory.

Molly Thompson had three singles with two RBIs while Julie Theriault added two singles with two RBIs for Howlers.

Kayla Osborne and Ashley Deloge each singled for the Wolverines.

At Houlton, Corey Lewis had three singles and an RBI to help lead Houlton’s 14-hit attack.

Harry Austin had three singles, Mike Cleary added a triple and a single, and Chris Howland singled twice for the Shiretowners.

For the Minutemen, Tyler Emerson had two singles and an RBI while Jordan Burleigh added two singles.

John Bapst sweeps MA

At Bangor, Chris Smith hit a grand slam in the third inning of the second game to help lead John Bapst to a doubleheader sweep of Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln 17-0 and 4-2.

In the first game, Jon Gagnon hit three singles and drove in two runs while Casey Hull doubled and singled. Aaron Healey added an RBI single for the Crusaders.

Tyler White, Tyson Tash and Cory Kimball each singled twice for the Lynx.

In the second game, Hull hit three singles and drove in four runs while Gagnon had a double, two singles and three RBIs for John Bapst.

Tyler White and Josh Murchison each singled for the Lynx.

At East Millinocket, Nick Bishop hit a single, a triple and two doubles with four RBIs to lead Schenck by Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Trevor Violette hit two singles, a double and drove in a run while Shawn Landry singled twice with two RBIs. Kerry Thompson and Josh Brown each hit two singles and drove in a run for the Wolverines.

Mark Theriault had a single with an RBI for the Howlers.

Bucksport 3, GSA 1

At Bucksport, junior righty Chris Maguire outdueled senior lefty Collin Henry and doubles by Matt Jackson and Cam Wadleigh keyed a two-run first inning for the Bucks, who avenged their only loss.

The Bucks lost their opener 3-1 to George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.

Maguire struck out three and allowed six hits while Henry fanned seven and allowed five hits.

Jackson led off the first with a double, stole third and scored following a walk on Joe Robicheau’s fielder’s choice.

Wadleigh followed with an RBI double.

Sam Bridges’ RBI fielder’s choice cut the lead in half in the top of the second but Ted Cooke manufactured an unearned run in the bottom of the second when he reached on an error, stole second and scored on a throwing error as he stole third.

DI-Stonington wins two

At Deer Isle, Ray Garcia hit a three-run home run and two singles to lead Deer Isle-Stonington by Jonesport-Beals 17-3 in the second game. The Mariners also defeated the Royals 14-0 in the first game.

In the first game, Collin Ciomei and Rob Brown each hit a home run while Garcia added a double and a single with an RBI for the Mariners.

Pete Barton, Ralph Backman and Shawn Miliken each singled for the Royals.

In the second game, Terrance Odell had a two-run double while Ethan Hale added three singles and an RBI. Shane Eaton had a single and an RBI double for the Mariners.

Miliken had a two-run single for the Royals.
