BUCKSPORT – Junior righty Chris Maguire outdueled senior lefty Collin Henry and Bucksport avenged its only loss with a 2-1 high school baseball victory over George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill Saturday.
The Golden Bucks lost their opener 3-1 to George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.
Maguire struck out three and allowed six hits while Henry fanned seven and allowed five hits.
Matt Jackson led off the first with a double, stole third and scored following a walk on Joe Robicheau’s fielder’s choice. Cam Wadleigh followed with an RBI double.
Sam Bridges’ RBI fielder’s choice cut the lead in half in the top of the second but Ted Cooke manufactured an unearned run in the bottom of the second when he reached on an error, stole second and scored on a throwing error as he stole third.

At Calais, Nick Reynolds and Robbie Rogers each turned in complete-game efforts to lead Calais to a sweep of Machias.
In the first game, Scott Geel hit a three-run home run in the fourth to put the host Blue Devils firmly in command.
Nick Harmon had two singles and two RBIs while Jamie Farley had two singles and one RBI for Calais. Jordan Leeman added an RBI double.
Singles by Isaiah Roberts and Seth Emery were the only Machias hits.
In the second game, Rogers (3-0) allowed one hit and three walks while getting four strikeouts. He also had an RBI single, as did Geel and Jamey Farley.
For the Bulldogs, Garrett Getchell’s single with no outs in the fifth broke up the no-hit bid.

At Woodland, Doob Dow hit three singles and drove in four runs to help lead Lee to victory by Woodland.
Tyler Thompson hit a grand slam while Charlie Boulrisse added two singles for the Pandas.

DI-Stonington wins two
At Deer Isle, Ray Garcia hit a three-run home run and two singles to lead Deer Isle-Stonington by Jonesport-Beals 17-3 in the second game. The Mariners also defeated the Royals 14-0 in the first game.
In the first game, Collin Ciomei and Rob Brown each hit a home run while Garcia added a double and a single with an RBI for the Mariners.
Pete Barton, Ralph Backman and Shawn Miliken each singled for the Royals.
In the second game, Terrance Odell had a two-run double while Ethan Hale added three singles and an RBI. Shane Eaton had a single and an RBI double for the Mariners.
Miliken had a two-run single for the Royals.

At Woodland, Brooke Harris pitched a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to lead Lee Academy to victory.
Erica Ritchie hit a single, a triple and drove in three runs and Harris had two singles. Marcy Moors added a triple for the Pandas.
Tiffany Wormell had a single for the Dragons.

Calais sweeps Machias
At Calais, Stephanie Perry pitched a shutout, allowing three hits with 15 strikeouts to lead Calais by Machias in the first game 2-0. The Blue Devils defeated Machias 22-0 in the second game.
In the first game, Darcy Gillespie hit an RBI double and Cassie Thomas added an RBI single for the Blue Devils.
Christi Holmes had two singles for the Bulldogs.
In the second game, Tessa Clark had three singles with two RBIs while Emily Wilkinson had three singles with an RBI. Brooke Winchester singled twice with three RBIs while Elise Ludington singled twice with an RBI for Calais.
Holmes, Stephanie Whitman, Jasmine Mallar and Beryl Lipton each singled for Machias.

Jonesport-B, DI-Stonington split
At Deer Isle, Anna Boyce hit three singles, including one in the seventh inning, to drive in the game winning as Jonesport-Beals defeated Deer-Isle Stonington 10-9 in the second game.
Deer Isle-Stonington won the first game 14-7.
In the first game, Renee Jordan hit two singles and a triple with five RBIs while Jennie Durkee singled twice with two RBIs for the Royalettes.
Mary Parker hit a solo home run in the fifth inning while Audra Eaton and Heather Brewer each had two singles and an RBI for the Mariners.
In the second game, Eaton singled and doubled with two RBIs while Brewer singled twice with an RBI. Anika Powers added a double with two RBIs for Deer Isle-Stonington.
Erika Smith had three singles and two RBIs while Hannah Carver and Kristi Smith each had two singles with an RBI for Jonesport-Beals.

At Harrington, Alica Tenney hit a grand slam and singled for five RBIs while leading the Narraguagus Knights past Shead of Eastport.
Sammy Baker had a double, a single and three RBIs for the Knights. Jessica Tenan and Becky Pilloni each had a single and two RBIs.
Tricia Candelmo’s leadoff single in the first was the only Shead hit.
