BLUE HILL – George Stevens Academy has announced its honor parts for the Class of 2006.
Alexandra Pfister, daughter of Sherry and Stephen Pfister of East Blue Hill, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2006. She will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.
She has participated in track, French club, Amnesty International, math team, book club and National Honor Society. She received two junior book awards, the Phi Beta Kappa award and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award.
Pfister plays in Planet Pan, a steel drum group, and coaches gymnastics.
Robin Rioux, daughter of Penny Ricker of Blue Hill and Michael Rioux of Surry, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2006. She plans to attend Bowdoin College or the University of Vermont to study economics.
She has participated in the French club, varsity basketball, soccer and softball. She is a member of the student council, co-president of the National Honor Society and vice president of the National Art Honor Society.
Rioux is the recipient of the Williams College Book Award.
Nina Wish, daughter of Lorie Dechar of East Blue Hill and Ron Wish of Nyack, N.Y., has been named first honor essayist. She will attend Bates College.
She is a member of George Stevens Academy’s sailing team and played the role of Anita in the school’s production of the musical “West Side Story.” She is a member of the National Honor Society.
Second honor essayists include Collin Henry, son of Jim and Pat Henry of Penobscot; Ross Gallagher, son of John Gallagher and Lee Lehto of East Blue Hill; Tara Taylor, daughter of Beth Storms Bakeman of Orland and George Taylor of Eastbrook; Jennifer Olivari, daughter of Marjorie and Brian Olivari of Castine; Alexandra (Sasha) Breus, daughter of Sergei Breus of Blue Hill; Kerry Malcosky, daughter of John and Kathy Malcosky of Orland; and Mackenzie Morris, daughter of Tom and Marion Morris of Brooklin.
