The format for the Ellsworth Rotary Club’s largest fundraiser has been revamped, reports Terry Carlisle, who promises the annual auction will be a “fast-paced evening with hundreds of items available in both silent and live auctions.”

The event is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, on the tennis courts at Ellsworth Holiday Inn.

Free hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available for bidders as they browse the silent auction areas before the live auction, Carlisle wrote.

Tickets for two free admissions are available from Rotary members or at Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce, Downeast Health Services, James Russell Wiggins Down East Family YMCA, Storage Plus, The Ellsworth American, New Land Nursery and Ellsworth Public Library.

Carlisle said auction items of interest include an overnight golf-dine-stay at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, a class at WoodenBoat School, 10 Maine lobsters, a Renata Moise painting and an Akoya pearl necklace and earring set.

She added that proceeds from the event “will benefit this year’s auction partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Maine and other Rotary charities.”
