BANGOR – Three men have been pleaded not guilty to gun charges in U.S. District Court in unrelated cases.

Martin Thomas Larsen, 30, of Bucksport and Orland, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to possessing a firearm last year after being convicted of a misdemeanor domestic assault. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

Larsen was forbidden from having guns after he was convicted two years ago in 5th District Court in Ellsworth of assaulting a domestic partner. He also is facing drug charges in Penobscot County.

Patrick Boutot, 29, of Bangor pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to lying on an application to purchase a firearm in January from Frati the Pawnbroker in Bangor. Boutot was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Bertand A. Cote III, 28, of Greenbush pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to making false statements on a firearms application two years ago when he tried to buy a gun from Frati the Pawnbroker in Bangor. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

If convicted, all three men face up to 10 years in federal prison and fines of up to $250,000.

The three were indicted in May by a federal grand jury in Bangor. The indictments were unsealed this week when the men were arrested.
