EAST MILLINOCKET – Chris Byron’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh capped a come-from-behind win for Schenck over rival Stearns 5-4 in high school baseball action Wednesday.
The victory helped elevate the Wolverines four spots in the Heal Points standings and catapulted them into the Eastern Maine Class D playoffs against Ashland.
Byron delivered Nick Bishop, who had singled and stolen second and third.
Schenck trailed 4-1 after two innings but got one run back in the fourth and tied it in the sixth on Kerry Thompson’s two-out, two-run single.
Bishop had three singles and four stolen bases and scored twice for Schenck; Josh Brown had a run-scoring single and Byron had a single to go with his sacrifice fly.
Jordan Burleigh had three singles for Stearns of Millinocket. Corey Barnett and Jeff Osborne had two singles each and Travis Deabay tripled.
