Former Bangor American Legion baseball standout Josh Pressley was named the Texas League player of the week after going 5-for-8 in a two-game stretch after being struck in the face by a foul ball.

Pressley hit a game-winning RBI single in the ninth for an 11-10 victory by his Springfield Cardinals after getting his pregame injury patched up. The next day, he had a home run and a double in a 6-5 win.

The Bangor native signed with St. Louis’ Double A affiliate after being released from Pawtucket by the Boston Red Sox.
