Brewer residents 21 years or older who are interested in learning more about how the police department operates can now sign up for the 10-week Citizen Police Academy, which starts June 20. Most of the weekly gatherings are on Tuesday, but there is an occasional Saturday meeting. Applicants with prior felony, assault or violent crime convictions or drug offenses will not be accepted.
