CALAIS – Steph Perry fired a four-hitter, striking out five and walking just one, to lead No. 1 Calais to a 5-0 victory over No. 8 Madawaska in a Class C softball quarterfinal Tuesday.
Perry also had two singles and knocked in two runs for Calais and Kayla Beaton hit an RBI single. Courtney Ayers singled and scored two runs and Courtney Hill singled and scored.
Andrea M. Cyr, Beth Girard, Sarah Schlicher, and Nicole Lugdon each singled for Madawaska.

Eastman struck out 12 and walked two while allowing two hits over five innings. Herring struck out three and walked three in two innings of hitless relief.
Graham and Sarah Harbison had two singles each for the winners, who capitalized on 11 walks and three errors.
