I am 7 years old and I go to school at Stepping Stones Montessori School in Chelsea. I’m doing a research project on someone who made a difference in the world. I chose Samantha Smith because she helped people see peace and I think she was pretty.

Samantha wrote a letter to the president of the Soviet Union and he wrote back to her. He invited her to go to the Soviet Union.

I want you to remind people that the first Monday in June (June 5 this year) is Samantha Smith Day and I want people to remember her and what she did.
