Bangor posts municipal meetings schedule

BANGOR – The following are city meetings and other activities for the week ahead. All will be held in City Council chambers at City Hall unless otherwise indicated.

. Monday: 5:45 p.m., City Council, executive session regarding negotiations with owners and tenants of permanent racino site; 6:30 p.m., City Council, budget workshop; 7:30 p.m., City Council, regular meeting, agenda includes the first reading of proposed 2007 city budget and related council resolves, approval of additional local funding for city schools, authorizing tax levy increase above state limit to offset additional state aid for local roads, accepting report of task force to enhance Bangor’s future architectural character, establishment of new sewer rates, authorizing option agreement with John Karnes for purchase and development of Union Place, public hearing for liquor license application for Just 4 Fun at 268 Odlin Road, authorizing city manager to seek state grant for outdoor recreational facilities, reapproval of development agreement with Bangor Historic Track, a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming Inc., extending deadline for executing purchase and sales agreement with Kenduskeag Yacht Club, owner of Holiday Inn-Civic Center property, order authorizing relocation assistance for Pella Windows and Doors, a tenant of Kenduskeag Yacht Club.

. Tuesday: City Council’s government operations committee, progress reports on noise mitigation efforts at Club Gemini, proposed multi-purpose athletic field complex off Downing Road.

. Wednesday: 4 p.m., housing authority board, agenda includes annual audit report, fuel oil bids, evaluation of executive director, 161 Davis Road; 5:30 p.m. Dakin Pool fundraising campaign update, 48 West Broadway; 6 p.m., Flag Day ceremony, Bangor Waterfront; 7 p.m., Harbor Committee, agenda includes discussion regarding disposition of old harbor master’s building, relocation of vending machines, updates on dock reservations, cruise boat schedule, heavy vessel dock project, Dock 4 waiting list, waterfront development projects, coming waterfront events, harbor master’s building, Front Street.

. Thursday: 2:30 p.m., Penjajawoc Marsh-Bangor Mall management commission subcommittee meeting; 5 p.m., City Council, open houses at Club Gemini, 190 Harlow St., and Mabel Wadsworth Women’s Health Center, 700 Mount Hope Ave.

. Sunday: 7 a.m., fire department pancake breakfast, 247 State St.; 12:30 p.m., Walk with the Ones You Love Day, Pickering Square.
