LEWISTON – A 1-ton rodeo bull named Dirty Rider escaped from a holding pen on Friday night, prompting a chase that involved police and rodeo crewmen, including a rider on horseback.
The bull apparently hopped a fence at the Colisee, where a professional bull-riding event was being held. It was cornered and roped within 15 minutes in a nearby backyard, but gave handlers a battle and neighbors a start before being herded into a trailer.
“I was going to go to the rodeo tonight,” Jim Nelson, watching at a safe distance, said. “I guess it came to me instead.”
