U.S. Sen. Susan Collins met with Micah Wall of Caribou and Zachary Burnett of Carmel during a trip to Washington.
Wall and Burnett were selected to represent Maine last summer at the American Legion Boys Nation. Each delegate had attended Boys State and was chosen to represent Maine at Boys Nation as a senator. The program gives students an opportunity to learn how bills make their way through congress to become law.
Wall, the son of Brian and Christina Wall, is a senior at Caribou High School where he is involved in wrestling and track and has received the student of the month award. He aspires to study law after high school graduation.
Burnett, of Carmel, is the son of Mark and Valerie Burnett. He is a senior in high school and is involved in football and basketball at his school. He would like to study political science.
Dirigo Boys State is scheduled for later this month at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. Dirigo Girls State will be held at Husson College in Bangor.
