BANGOR – Army National Guard Spec. Ronald Ogden has returned to the United States after serving in Iraq. Ogden is an infantryman regularly assigned to the 152nd Maintenance Co. in Augusta.

A 2001 graduate of Apostolic Christian Academy in Brewer, Ogden is the son of Byron Ogden of Bangor and Carolyn Gosslin of Norfolk, Va.

HUDSON – Army National Guard Spec. Darrick Hazlett has returned to the United States after serving in Iraq. He is a mechanic regularly assigned to the 152nd Maintenance Co. in Augusta.

A 1988 graduate of Central High School in Corinth, Hazlett is the son of Phillip Pierce of Hudson.

BUCKSPORT – Sgt. Michael Anthony Chavaree, originally of Bucksport, has recently returned from serving in Afghanistan.

A paratrooper stationed out of Fort Benning, Ga., Chavaree made a surprise visit June 3 to Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford to present his brother, Kenneth Michael Chavaree, with his diploma.

Basic training

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cody Dana Sullivan of Carmel has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base.

Sullivan enlisted in the 101st Air Refueling Wing on Jan. 19, and left Bangor for basic training on April 4. He graduated on May 19 from Flight 394, Squadron 320.

Sullivan is attending the Department of Defense Fire Academy, Squadron 312, Firedogs, at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas.

A 2005 graduate of Hermon High School, he is the son of Dana and Belinda Sullivan of Carmel.

Sullivan has attended the Fire Science Program at Eastern Maine Community College. He began as a volunteer firefighter for the Carmel Fire Department, and was a live-in firefighter for the Hermon Fire Department.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Army Pvt. Anthony Bailey graduated recently from basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Robert Bailey of Bangor and Rolande Motola of Rockville, Conn.

SAN ANTONIO – Air Force Airman Brandon Kingsbury graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2005 graduate of Brewer High School, he is the son of Jodie Clark of Brewer and Edward Kingsbury of Brewer.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Tristan Farris graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is a 1998 graduate of Central High School in Corinth.

During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
