As a member of the Christian faith, I was very disappointed and outraged at the paid advertisement of “The Beast” [comic strip] in the Bangor Daily News this past weekend. I realize this ad was reproduced by permission of Chick Publications by King James Bible Baptist Church of Bangor.

In the section “Satan raises up a leader that the world will love,” it is very clear who they are targeting as Satan’s masterpiece. I have friends and relatives in many religious faiths who are wonderful people who worship God, Allah, Buddha and whatever higher power they wish to call God. We are taught to love our neighbor and to do good. I have many wonderful Baptist friends who are as shocked as I am by this ad.

I am very disappointed in the King James Bible Baptist Church for turning their backs and blaspheming against people of other faiths. We are taught, “By their fruits, you shall know them.”

I would hope that you will reconsider if another ad like this comes your way. You have freedom speech and of the press.

I also have freedom to choose what newspapers I subscribe to.
