Brewer rolls by Penquis

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Kevin McAvoy hit a two-run homer and Prentiss Swett belted a three-run shot to lead the Brewer Falcons to a 10-2 American Legion baseball victory over Penquis on Wednesday.

Brad Brown had an RBI double and RBI single and Eddie Robbins three singles and two RBIs for Brewer.

Dan Beatham had an RBI single for Penquis.

Presque Isle 8, Calais 5

At Calais, Harry Austin hit two singles and drove in three runs to lead Presque Isle past Calais.

Devin Hersey hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Patriots and Pat Thibodeau tripled and singled with an RBI.

Scott Geel hit a home run in the first inning for Calais and Craig Moody doubled.

Bangor sweeps Lincoln

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, the host Comrades combined solid pitching with timely hitting to sweep Lincoln 7-2 and 4-2 .

In the first game, Kyle Leeman led the way with a double and two RBIs. Kyle Vanidestine also doubled.

Blaine Clark had two singles and Jason Murchison added a double for Lincoln.

In the second game, Ian Edwards allowed seven hits and one walk in five innings of work before Leeman pitched two innings of hitless relief for the Comrades. Anthony Derosa had a single and two RBIs.

Clark again led Lincoln with two singles.
