University of Maine freshman Kevin McAvoy of Brewer and sophomore teammate Curt Smith have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association Northeast Regional team.

Third baseman McAvoy, the America East Rookie of the Year and a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, was a first-team pick after batting .369 with a team-best 10 home runs and 64 RBIs. Shortstop Smith was a second-team choice with a .390 batting average, five homers, 55 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.
