Police use stun gun to subdue suspect in assault

When pepper spray didn’t work, Bangor police used a Taser to subdue a man who told them they would have to kill him to get him into custody.

Called to a trailer home on Ohio Street late Wednesday night, officers could hear an angry man inside and what sounded like an assault taking place. When Officers Steve Pelletier and David Bushey confronted Willie Priester, 39, at the front door, a woman inside confirmed that she had been assaulted. A telephone had been yanked from the wall as well.

The 5-foot-9, 250-pound Priester was described as being irate and “flipping out.” Pepper spray had little effect on the man.

Officer Jason McAmbley arrived with a Taser and after repeated warnings, discharged the electric stun gun.

Priester was charged with assault, obstructing the report of a crime, disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.

Out on bail Wednesday night, a Bangor woman was taken back into custody early Thursday morning after an alleged domestic dispute involving her mother and charged with assault and violation of bail conditions.

Crystal Delosa, 22, was freed at 4 p.m. Wednesday after posting bail on a charge of failure to appear. Ten hours later, her mother heard Delosa and four males break down the door frame to her Elm Street home, according to the police report.

The owner found the five perpetrators sitting in her living room with a plate of crushed pills on the coffee table. The woman then dumped over the plate of pills, causing Delosa to attack and two of the men to flee, the report stated. While being held down by the other two men, the victim alleged Delosa bit her arm and continuously hit her.

Bangor police attempted to locate Delosa, but she remained at-large until 5 a.m. when she was arrested.
