Hailey is a very friendly 6-year-old girl who tries to be helpful and please others. She gets along well with her peers and enjoys a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, games and singing.
Hailey is smart, enjoys school and excels at reading and writing. Around the house, Hailey is extremely cooperative in doing things that are asked of her. She enjoys clearing the table, putting things away and assisting in the collection of laundry.
Hailey has mastered following one- and two-step instructions, as well as sitting and listening to stories for up to 30 minutes. She has a strong sense of good manners and frequently says “please” and “thank you.” She presents herself as a polite and friendly child who has a strong energy for life and can be exuberant at times!
Hailey and her sisters, Aleya and Heather, have developed good relationships with each other and placement together in an adoptive home is their goal.
Families who participate in an active lifestyle and who are willing and able to provide individual attention to each girl is essential. While all three of these girls share a zest for life, are friendly and enjoy school, they have individual needs and personalities that will require time and attention from skilled parents.
Hailey, Heather and Aleya have experienced abuse and neglect in their early childhood which has affected their development and contributed to their special needs. They will require services and participation in these services with their adoptive family. Hailey, Heather and Aleya are learning skills to express their feelings and manage those feelings and behavior.
Hailey is one of the 156 children in Maine Department of Health and Human Service’s care who is seeking an adoptive family.
Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
