Bangor man charged in domestic assault

BANGOR – An Ohio Street resident called Bangor police Saturday evening and said her husband had taken their 7-year-old daughter.

The woman, who was upset and in tears, told Officers Rob Angelo and Chris Desmond that the couple were in the process of getting a divorce.

The husband, Scott Plummer, 38, allegedly came to the apartment and said he was taking their daughter with him and refused to say where.

The mother told police that she grabbed her daughter’s arm to keep Plummer from taking her. He grabbed the woman by the face and pushed her away, according to police.

While talking to the mother, the officers received word that Plummer had arrived at the police station with the daughter. Angelo left to speak with Plummer while Desmond, who had had dealings with the mother before, stayed at the apartment.

Plummer said his daughter had been abused by his wife that evening when she grabbed onto the girl’s arm. He admitted to pushing his wife in the face but said it was to get her off their daughter.

Angelo inspected the girl’s arm and found no marks. He told Plummer that he was being charged with assault.

According to the police report, Plummer then said that if he had wanted to hurt her, she would have been really hurt. He admitted that he shouldn’t have said that and claimed he was just kidding, police said.

Plummer was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He was released on bail.
