Huff wins Sportsman Pro-Stock at Speedway 95

HERMON – Kris Huff of Orrington took the win in the Sportsman Pro-Stock division at Speedway 95 on Saturday night. Rodney Brooks of Thomaston finished second, Milo’s John Higgins was third, Gary Bellefleur of Stetson was fourth, and Jesse Smith of Bangor rounded out the top five.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset, four-time Strictly Street champion Maurice Young of Chelsea claimed his first win of the season in the 20-lap feature by holding off Bobby Mesimer of Woolwich at Wiscasset Raceway on Saturday.

Steve Peirpont of Cushing finished third, Lisbon’s Dave Brannon was fourth, and Zack Creamer of Bath finish fifth.

The Late Model Sportsman race completed just 25 laps before thick fog forced its postponement to Saturday at 5 p.m.

NASCAR Busch East Series

At Holland, N.Y., Bryon Chew of Mattituck, N.Y., won his first career Busch East Series race by claiming the Fuccillo Auto Park HUGE 150 at Holland International Speedway on Saturday.

Mike Johnson of Salisbury, Mass.,, finished second, Mike Olsen of North Haverhill, N.H., was third, Strong’s Tracy Gordon finished fourth, and Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass., was fifth.

Sean Caisse of Pelham, N.H., who drives for Cherryfield’s Andy Santerre, won the pole and finished eighth. Caisse holds a 22-point lead over Mike Olsen in the series point standings.

Oxford Plains Speedway

At Oxford, Jeff Tayor scored the 65th win of his Oxford Plains Speedway career Friday in the 50-lap Oxford Networks Pro Stock feature.

Ricky Rolfe finished second while Jeff Burgess posted his best OPS finish in third.
