BANGOR – A computer upgrade and installation contracts for a closed-circuit television system and an access control system for Bangor International Airport were among the items city councilors addressed Monday night.
Officials also authorized the purchase of dispatch consoles for the Police Department.
Councilors voted to buy computer hardware and software for BIA and split the roughly $150,000 cost with its fuel provider, ExxonMobil Aviation.
As it stands, BIA owns and operates the fuel hydrant system, and ExxonMobil provides the fuel. In 2004, councilors extended BIA’s agreement with the fuel company through 2018, with an option to renew through 2023.
A company called Cornerstone Logic will provide the airport management software, while software developed by a company called Varec will monitor the airport’s fuel farm operations.
BIA Director Rebecca Hupp said earlier that the system will track, besides fuel sales, landing fees, passenger handling fees and other services for which BIA charges.
Councilors, who last September approved the purchase of a closed-circuit television system, on Monday awarded the installation contract to Elco Electric of Bangor, which will be paid $126,857 for the job.
The access control system, also approved last fall, will be installed by Signet Electronic Systems of Norwell, Mass., which was awarded a $396,700 contract for installing that system.
The dispatch consoles will be purchased from New England Dispatch at a cost of $199,000 through the state’s contract.
