Kane single sparks Penquis to victory Navigators collect first win of season

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Danny Kane hit a line-drive single to right field to score Tim McCarthy from third base with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Penquis to a 7-6 American Legion baseball victory over Lincoln Tuesday.

Eric Day hit a double and two singles to knock in a run for the Navigators. Dave White doubled and Sam Bowers hit an RBI single.

Tyler Thompson had a double and two singles with an RBI for Lincoln. Aaron Flannery singled twice to drive in two runs and Tyson Tash singled and scored two runs.

Orono 12, Calais 1

At Calais, Travis Dunton hit a two-run double in the third inning to help lead Orono past Calais.

George Keefe hit four singles to knock in three runs for Orono. Jarrett Lukas had a double and two singles and Travis Bryant added two singles.

Justin Leblanc, Scott Geel, and Aaron Sullivan each singled for Calais.

Bangor 13, Presque Isle 5

At Presque Isle, Gordon Webb hit a three-run home run in the second inning to help lead Bangor to the win.

Ian Edwards hit a three-run double and a two-run double for the Comrades and Alex Gallant added an RBI double.

Logan York singled twice for Presque Isle and R.J. Richardson hit an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Brewer 11, Waldo 5

At Brewer, Kevin McAvoy slammed a two-run homer and hit an RBI double to lead unbeaten Brewer to its fifth win.

Evan Economy socked an RBI double while Chris Maguire singled twice and tripled to drive in three runs for the Falcons.

Josh Nickerson hit a two-run homer and Tyson McHatten a solo shot for Waldo. Tyler Miles doubled and singled.
