INDIANAPOLIS – Race walkers Michael Boucher, a 2006 graduate of Ellsworth High School, and recent Boothbay Region High grad Lauren Forgues, earned All-American honors and berths on the USA Junior National Track and Field Team with top finishes at the U.S. track and field championships.

Boucher walked his first-ever 10-kilometer race at the nationals and finished fifth in a time of 55 minutes, 14.42 seconds. Forgues walked a personal-best 53:56.73 to place second in the junior girls’ 10K race to earn All-American honors for the eighth time in her high school career.

Forgues plans to attend the University of Maine this fall to help fashion a competitive race walking component of its indoor and outdoor track and field program, according to Tom Eastler, USATF race walk chairman.
