Hampden police responded Sunday evening to a domestic dispute and arrested Michael Vose, 21, of Hampden on a charge of domestic assault.

Vose’s live-in girlfriend called police after Vose allegedly grabbed her by the throat and attempted to push her down the stairs of their Dudley Street residence.

Vose then threatened to kill the woman if she called police, Hampden police Sgt. Scott Webber said.

She took her infant, who was less than a year old, and ran to a neighbor’s to call for help.

When police arrived on the scene, Vose was outside in his driveway spinning his tires, Webber said. Police found out Vose had his license suspended, and summoned him on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after suspension.

Vose was being held Sunday night at the Penobscot County Jail.

After a Bangor man allegedly failed to correctly recite the alphabet letters C through P during a field sobriety test – he forgot H, I, J and K – he was brought Saturday night to the police station. Jeremy Larochelle, 26, was summoned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, according to the police report.

Larochelle allegedly cut off Officer Dan Herrick’s police motorcycle on Hammond Street, forcing Herrick to brake hard. The officer then pulled Larochelle over.

Larochelle admitted to the officer that he did not have a license, the report stated. When Herrick checked, the license came up “not eligible.”

He was summoned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after suspension.

The Bangor man’s eyes were reportedly glassy, and he smelled of alcohol, the report said.

After Larochelle failed the field sobriety test, police tested his blood-alcohol content at 0.12 percent. The legal limit in Maine is .08.

After being detained temporarily at the station, police released Larochelle.

A Bangor man reported his $600 yellow Gary Fisher mountain bike stolen Saturday night after he caught three others walking down the steps of his Park Street apartment with the bike in hand, according to police.

The man told police he saw two males and one female in baggy clothing. After witnessing the perpetrators with his bike, he called police. The man returned to see if the group was still there, but the suspects were gone.

Police canvassed the area, but turned up nothing.
