Sumner Memorial High School, Sullivan
Principal Michael C. Eastman recently announced honor parts for the Class of 2006. Graduation was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 8.
James M. Dunleavey, son of James and Susan Dunleavey of Gouldsboro was named valedictorian for the Class of 2006. He will attend the College of William and Mary to study biology.
He has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and student council for three years, serving as president this past year. He has been a member of French club and math team, and participated in tennis and golf.
Amanda L. Munger, daughter of Bruce and Jenny Munger of Sullivan, was named salutatorian. She will attend the University of New England.
She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years, student council for three years, and has been class president for the last two years. She was a member of the mentor program, math team and international club.
Shaye A. Sumner, daughter of Robert Sumner of Sullivan and Wendy Landry of Surry, was named first honor essayist. She will attend the University of Miami.
She has been a member of athletic council for two years, the mentor program for three years, and has participated in cheerleading and chorus.
Crystal E. Bridges, daughter of Richard and Jean Bridges of Gouldsboro, was named second honor essayist. She will attend the University of Maine in Orono.
She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and student council for four years. She has been a member of athletic council, math team, my choice chem.-free committee and mentor program. She attended the Science and Humanities Symposium her junior year and received the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science award.
