FORT FAIRFIELD – Six Aroostook County girls qualified for the Maine State Equestrian Team, which will represent the state at the “Big E” competition in West Springfield, Mass., in September.

Kaitlin Russell of Linneus, Jenna McCarthy of Mars Hill, Nicole Michaud of Presque Isle, Brianna Hannington of Wypotitlock, Caitlyn Esancy of Fort Fairfield, and Alyssa Kilcollins of Fort Fairfield were selected from about 35 riders who tried out for the 20-member team.
