BANGOR – Mountain Valley High School in Rumford will get a complete audio recording system as the result of winning the first Audio Challenge sponsored by the New England School of Communications in Bangor. The announcement was made May 26. Second place went to Madison Area Memorial High School and third place was won by Brewer High School.

The second place winner receives a Pro Tools M-Box and the third place school receives a Lexicon Processor.

Approximately 60 students and teachers attended the seminar and eight schools entered the challenge. Schools were asked to create a recording, either instrumental or vocal, using whatever recording equipment was available. One song on CD was submitted by each school. The recording and mixing was performed by students. Entries were judged on the quality of recording and methods employed.
