RIPLEY – A Massachusetts family lost their 3-year-old son in an accidental drowning Thursday night.

Kelly Bloniasz, 33, and Jeremy P. Bloniasz, 27, both of Millbury, Mass., were visiting family Thursday night at a camp on Ripley Pond when their young son Jeremy went missing, said Detective Mathew Cunningham of the Somerset Count Sheriff’s Office.

The child was found unconscious and unresponsive floating next to the dock.

He was rushed by Dexter Ambulance to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft and pronounced dead at 11:05 p.m., the detective said.

CPR attempts were made by the father, neighbors, ambulance paramedics and hospital staff, the officer said.

“How many parents have lost track of their kids for five minutes?” Cunningham asked Friday. “I can raise my hand to that.”
