Wasson leads Old Town by Hampden 7-1

BANGOR – Cory Wasson pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead Old Town by Hampden 7-1 in District 3 Senior League All-Star baseball action at Mansfield Stadium Friday.

Wasson struck out four, walked no one and retired the last 12 batters he faced. He did not allow an earned run.

Evan Paradis and Dana Leland each singled twice for the winners.

Ryan Lindermann, Justin Kelsey and Jarred Kelsey each singled twice for Hampden.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Ryan LaRochelle hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to break the 7-7 tie and give Bangor the victory.

Zane Gray hit a two-run single to tie the game in the seventh for Bangor.

Gray had two singles and three RBIs for Bangor. Jordan Clarke tripled and singled and Christian Dionne added an RBI triple.

Jay Spencer singled twice to knock in three runs for Glenburn and Jon Gagnon hit an RBI triple.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Holbrook scored seven unearned runs on just three hits in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good.

Nick Smith pitched a complete-game six-hitter for the winners. He struck out six, walked two and allowed just two earned runs.

Smith also had three singles, while teammate Charlie Merritt hit an RBI double.

Mike Clune paced Brewer with two singles and an RBI, while John Thoms doubled and drove in two runs.

Millinocket 6, Old Town 5

At Old Town, Jordan Morrow scored the winning run in the top of the sixth inning on a Kyle McVey single to lift Millinocket past Old Town.

Morrow hit a two-run double in the sixth to tie it for Millinocket. Morrow also earned the complete-game victory, striking out 11.

Adam Boucher hit a two-run double in the third inning for Old Town. Adam Richardson hit an RBI double and Ryan Dunn tripled.

At Holden, Brody Valley hit a double and two singles to drive in three runs and lead Holbrook to the win.

Josh Theriault singled twice to knock in a run for Holbrook and Charles Kindya added two singles.

Tony Bishoff singled and scored two runs for Brewer and Sam Stanhope singled and scored.

At Taylor Field in Bangor, Chris Howat allowed one hit and no walks while striking out seven to earn the victory.

Connor Griffin tripled and singled to drive in five runs for Bangor East. Adam King had two triples and a single with two RBIs and John Szewczyk had a double and two singles. Luke Hetterman had three singles with two RBIs and Patrick Stewart hit three singles.

Sutton Crosby singled in the first inning for Lincoln, which was eliminated.

At Hampden, Dakota Duplissie hit three home runs and a single to drive in nine runs and lead Hampden to victory.

Fred Knight had four singles and three RBIs for Hampden and Thomas Hoffman also had four singles with two RBIs. Gabe Yarmartino hit three singles to knock in a run and Jeddy Doyon doubled and singled with two RBIs. Cam Libbey added two singles and an RBI.

Pat Goodall hit a two-run double in the second inning for Katahdin Valley, which was eliminated

At Glenburn, Nick Sherwood had two doubles and a triple to lead Glenburn to victory.

Ben Bragg and Tyler Olmos each doubled while Randy Allard singled twice for the winners.

Sean O’Donnell doubled and singled for Orrington.

Holbrook 2, Millinocket 1

At Holden, Adam Patrick hit a two-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to lead Holbrook past Millinocket.

Tyler Libby allowed one run on four hits and four walks while striking out 13 for Holbrook. Max Andrews and Alex Burgess singled.

Josh Studer drove in Jonathan Dumas in the sixth inning on a single for Millinocket. Jared Albert singled twice and Dumas singled. Charlie Tapley allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while recording 12 strikeouts.

Acadian 2, Ellsworth 1

At Bar Harbor, Dennis O’Neil allowed just one run on one hit while striking out 13 and walking only one to lead Acadian to victory.

O’Neil hit a home run in the fourth inning for the Acadians. Jason Carbone, Ben Walls, Brody Bowden, and Robbie Logue singled.

Brian Twitchell drove in David Jones with a single in the fifth inning for Ellsworth.

Coastal 8, Calais 1

At Brooklin, Jesse Dow allowed just one walk and no earned runs while striking out six to earn the no-hit win for Coastal.

Josh Gale hit a solo home run and a two-run double for Coastal. Jimmy Gray had three singles and an RBI. Jesse Dow and Alex Peasley doubled and singled and Oliver Lawson doubled.

Codey Arbo scored for Calais.

At Milbridge, Andrew Giosia slammed a pair of solo home runs to lead Bucksport to the victory.

Cody Davis doubled twice and singled while Ryan Bailey had a double and a single for Bucksport.

Beaver Dublin had two singles for Sunrise.

At Hermon, Crystal Demchak hit a two-run double, a one-run double and a single to lead Orrington to the victory.

Krissy Dionne earned the pitching victory in relief of starter Hunter Spencer for Orrington, which scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth.

Nicole Ryder pitched a three-hitter for Glenburn-Levant, and also hit a pair of RBI singles.

At Orrington, Lincoln erupted for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning to eliminate Bangor.

Sierra Pierce pitched a two-hit shutout for Lincoln in a game halted after four innings by the 10-run rule.

Morgan Russell had a single and two RBIs for the winners, while Taylor Hawkins had a single and an RBI.

Kamy Prendergast and Olivia Whitten each singled for Bangor.
