Christie sparks victory; Orono-Veazie wins 2

BANGOR – Nick Christie struck out six over the final four innings to lead Holbrook by Glenburn-Levant 11-1 in a District 3 Junior League All-Star baseball game at Mansfield Stadium Sunday.

The contest was one of eight Junior League All-Star games played at Mansfield over the weekend.

Holbrook scored seven runs on three hits to break open the game in the second and was helped by two errors and four walks in the inning.

Brandon Carney recorded a triple, two singles and four RBIs for the winners. Nick Christie and Matt Sloan each chipped in with two singles and Bennett Higgins doubled.

Joel Adams singled twice for Glenburn-Levant.

Katahdin 9, Brewer 7

Andy Kay doubled twice and singled twice to drive in a pair of runs and lead Katahdin past Brewer 9-7 in a District 3 Junior League All-Star game at Mansfield Stadium Sunday.

Dakota Sleeper hit a single and an RBI triple for Katahdin and Billy Duffy doubled.

Eric White and Jamie Williamson each tripled and singled to knock in three runs for Brewer. Pat McEwen added and RBI double.

Bill Wetherbee hit an RBI triple and an RBI single to lead Orono-Veazie to the win on Sunday.

Paul Ohno doubled and singled for Orono-Veazie and Ryan Carr added two singles.

Cody Smart led Old Town with two doubles and Brandon LeVasseur singled twice.

Ryan Carr hit two triples and two singles to knock in three runs for Orono-Veazie on Saturday.

Bill Wetherbee had two doubles and two singles with four RBIs for Orono-Veazie. Shawn Kilpatrick had two singles and four RBIs and Dan Keefe doubled and singled with an RBI. Adam Leadbetter drove in two runs on two singles.

Jacob Roy and Nick Byers singled for Hermon.

Brewer scored three runs in the fifth inning on just one hit to break the 2-2 tie and take the win over Holbrook on Saturday.

Eric White hit an RBI double and a single for Brewer and Pat McEwen recorded eight strikeouts.

Brandon Carney doubled with two RBIs for Holbrook. Tyler Chamberlain hit an RBI double and Kyle Senter added a double.

Brian Higgins singled three times and drove in four runs to lead Bangor past Glenburn-Levant on Saturday.

Kyle Savage had two singles and two RBIs for Bangor and Lonnie Hackett hit three singles. Tyler Desjardins tripled to drive in a run and John Parkhurst doubled.

Jack Worcester doubled and singled for Glenburn-Levant and Zac Blodgett added two singles.

Zach Frishi hit a triple and two singles to knock in two runs and help lead Hampden past Lincoln on Saturday.

Matt Lindemann hit a double and two singles for Hampden. Nolan Turner hit a two-run triple and Jonathan Johnston singled twice to drive in three runs.

Tyler Tash and Ivan Voisine had two singles and two RBIs for Lincoln. Ethan white added three singles with a run driven in.
