PORTLAND – The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will be hosting NASCAR night on Monday, July 24 at Hadlock Field when the Sea Dogs play the Reading Phillies at 7 p.m. NASCAR night is in anticipation of Maine’s premier stock car race, the TD Banknorth 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 30.
Maine native and former NASCAR driver Ricky Craven will deliver the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Craven is expected to race in the TD Banknorth 250 for the first time since 1992. Craven appeared in 278 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series events and earned two victories.
Craven’s No. 25 VIP Parts, Tires and Service Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be held on display at Hadlock Field. Other cars on display at Hadlock will include Craven’s teammate Johnny Clark, Kevin Kimball and Chris Kenniston. All of the cars will be vying for a spot in the TD Banknorth 250.
