Regarding the letter, “Moose-car collisions” (BDN, July 4).

Don’t blame all those accidents on the moose. Super highways, shopping malls and housing developments now stand where woods and farmland once stood.

Where are these lovely creatures to go? Mosquitoes and bugs bite them just as they do us. They try to escape and end up in manmade developments.

I am an animal lover. I say: be alert. Slow down, and live and let live.
