ELLSWORTH -Corey Cushing went the distance and helped Brewer hold off the Trenton Acadians 5-2 in American Legion baseball action Wednesday.

Prentiss Swett, Cam Wadleigh and Andy Otis each singled for the Falcons.

Collin Henry and Kyle Shea had two singles apiece for Trenton, which outhit Brewer 7-3.

At Calais, Scott Hackett belted a grand slam in the top of the first inning and Jordan Clarke doubled, singled and drove in three runs as Bangor rolled over Calais.

Jim Cox added a two-run single for the winners.

Jeff Ramsdell singled twice with an RBI and Craig Moody had two singles and a run scored. Josh Francis doubled and scored for Calais.

Tyson Tash had a solo homer and a single for the Lumber. Aaron Flannery hit three singles and Drew Welch hit a two-run single.
