I cannot understand Robert Klose’s op-ed, “Iraq is the war that keeps on giving” (BDN, July 8-9).
Perhaps he was writing tongue in cheek. At the risk of not “getting it,” I write this letter.
Whatever his reasons for writing the commentary, I would simply say that war is hell and asking young people to die for us cannot be taken lightly even though an American has only a 0.0008 percent chance of knowing someone who died in Iraq.
Klose’s insensitivity and cynicism is awful.
